Columbus Phenix City Midland Box Springs egg donor program

About The Program

Sometimes a woman is unable to become pregnant because she can’t produce healthy eggs. Egg donation allows couples to use another woman’s egg and experience the joy of conceiving a child.

Columbus Phenix City Midland Box Springs egg donationThe best candidates for egg donation are healthy women aged 18-32. Donors undergo thorough screening for infectious disease, hormone levels and genetic abnormalities. They are also referred to a counselor. Donors are usually compensated well for their time.

Donors and recipients may remain anonymous or they may choose to meet. Either way, recipients will be able to select from a variety of donors based on a number of qualities including physical appearance, IQ, ethnicity, career and family history.

If selected, the donor will undergo menstrual synchronization with the recipient (who may either be the female partner or a surrogate) and egg retrieval. This involves a course of hormone medications. The eggs are then fertilized in the laboratory and transferred to the recipient’s uterus.
